Program Design Intern
The Program Design Intern is responsible for the content assembly, design, printing, and distribution of all programs and inserts not included in the weekly program books. This is a ten-week full time position with some evenings and weekends required.
Responsibilities
The Program Design Intern is responsible for the design, content assembly, printing, and distribution of nearly 130 concert programs and program inserts. These include programs for non-ticketed student performances, new program pages or bio inserts for last-minute program changes, and texts and translations.
The Program Design Intern works as part of an editing team reporting directly to the Program Book Managing Editor, in addition to working closely with the Vice President for Artistic Administration and the Assistant Artistic Administrator, to prepare all of the information necessary to produce the programs. The Program Design Intern also communicates with different departments and various members of the staff and faculty to obtain concert information. This position also prepares and maintains a printing production schedule with a local printer.
The design and layout of programs and inserts in InDesign is the key function of this position. This position also ensures the delivery of programs to concert venues, collects student biographies and photos, proofreads all programs, and creates an archive and index of programs. This position also helps prepare and upload the online version of the program book.
Qualifications
The applicant should be computer proficient, specifically in Adobe InDesign (AMFS has computers equipped with CS5, but candidates are encouraged to bring their own computers with the software installed) and familiarity with Photoshop is also recommended. Knowledge of classical music and foreign languages is also helpful. Applicants should be effective and polite communicators in addition to being extremely detail oriented, organized, efficient, and courteous as well as able to prioritize tasks and work well under the pressure of numerous deadlines. Candidates should be comfortable working independently as well as part of a closely knit team. A good sense of humor will ensure a gratifying summer. Weekend and evenings work hours are often necessary. Intern must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle during summer 2015 is strongly recommended.
Compensation: Stipend plus housing
Duration: June 15-August 23, 2015

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
